Expressive Arts and Neurobiology: A Discussion with Deborah Armstrong PhD, LMFT-S, RPT-S, REAT, REACE

Hi there,

You are invited to a conversation with Deborah Armstrong about how engaging with experiences in the expressive arts can be understood to be a brain-wise practice in therapy.  

Deborah has been practicing as a therapist  (LMFT-S), specializing in play (RPT-S), expressive arts (REAT, REACE), and focusing (CFP) in therapy for a very long time. She discovered IPNB in 1999 at the Decade of the Brain conference. She taught at and served as coordinator of the Expressive Arts Therapy concentration at Goddard College, until 2024, when the college closed its doors. She will begin teaching and coordinating the Expressive Arts Therapy program at Bennington College in July. She practices out of The Mindgarden Centre (www.themindgardencentre.com). She has been serving on the working Board of Directors of GAINS since April of 2023.
